In 1990 Stereo MCs broke records when their Elevate My Mind single was the first English hip hop single to reach the US R&B chart. In the UK they were supporting bands like Happy Mondays and working with the Jungle Brothers as the indie dance scene came to prominence. Their acclaimed live shows paved the way for 1992's breakthrough Connected, a UK Albums Chart No.2, which spawned the smashes "Connected", "Step It Up", "Creation" and "Ground Level", and won them BRIT Awards for Best Group and Best Album. They released their most recent album Double Bubble last July and last Christmas joined Madness at their O2 London show.
